About

West of 10th produces plays that spotlight millennials and tell their stories with humor, empathy, and audacity. We present intimate productions of established plays and strive to nurture new playwrights who offer unique perspectives on contemporary culture. 

The company was founded in the summer of 2015 by Rachel Goodgal, Jen Sandler, and Piyali Syam.

Rachel Goodgal (Co-Artistic Director / Managing Director) is an actor and producer who has appeared in West of 10th’s Matt & Ben, Completeness, and Lonely, I'm Not. Other favorite credits include Speech & Debate, Uncommon Women & Others, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, As You Like It, and PTP/NYC’s The Castle. She is a graduate of Middlebury College and an acting student at The Barrow Group. www.rachelgoodgal.com.

Jen Sandler (Co-Artistic Director / Executive Producer) is a producer and all around theatre enthusiast. She is a proud graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University where she studied theatre. Jen works as an Assistant Producer at Broadway's Supper Club, Feinstein's/54 Below. Favorite projects include Cry-Baby Reunion Concert, Blood Brothers in Concert and The Broadway Villains Party. She has also worked on Penn & Teller on Broadway as a Production Assistant and in production & development positions at Lincoln Center, Playwrights Horizons, Primary Stages, and MCC Theater.

Christopher Campbell-Orrock (Artistic Associate) is a New York City based director, dramaturg, and arts administrator. He currently works as assistant and dramaturg to playwright Ayad Akhtar and assistant to literary agent Donna Bagdasarian at Publication Riot Group. He also serves as an Artistic Associate with the theatre company Upstart Creatures. Directing Credits: Matt and Ben (Creative Motion Players); Next to Normal, tempODYSSEY, Adding Machine (Vassar); Readings: Sidney and Laura by Halley Feiffer, The Giantess by Maria Vail (Berkshire Theatre Festival). Assistant Directing Credits: Anders Cato, Christopher Grabowski, Madeline Sayet, and James Naughton.

Erin McMahon (Co-Literary Manager) worked Off Broadway as a company member in The Greatest Pirate Story (N)ever Told and has also worked as an actor for theatres such as Black Box Studios and Millbrook Playhouse.  She studied theatre, painting, and English at Marywood University.  Erin has also trained as an actor at The Barrow Group, H.B. Studios, and The Magnet Theatre.  She currently teaches musical theatre classes at Artistree Performing Arts in Mamaroneck NY.

Maureen Fleming (Co-Literary Manager) is an actress and director whose credits include West of 10th's Matt and Ben as well as Speech & Debate, A Perfect Couple, and Down the Road. She is a graduate of the acting apprentice program at the Barrow Group, where she also served as literary assistant. Maureen is a founding member of Rowdy Little Girl, a theater company based in New York.

He is currently the Development Fellow at the Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York and helps fundraise for the organization’s programs that support more than 370 nonprofit theatre companies in New York City. B.A. Theatre and Dance, The University of Texas at Austin.

Previously, she has held positions at Condé Nast and Mashable. She studies improv at UCB, has bylines at Reductress, AM New York, NY Blueprint, and Runt Of The Web, and completed the apprentice program at The Barrow Group.
